I am a scientist, a writer, and a teacher. With JMD Solutions Group, I combine all of this expertise into a single enterprise. I received my B.Sc. at the University of Toronto with a double major in Psychology and Anthropology. After my degree, I travelled the world to study bats in the amazing Family Emballonuridae (the sac-winged bats) to earn my PhD in Biology. With the expertise earned from my travels and education, I became a passionate science communicator, teaching courses at York University and George Brown College in Toronto, Canada and writing and editing science textbooks. 

Broadening my skills, I earned an MBA from York University in 2006 and worked in a variety of positions as a Senior Policy and Science Advisor for provincial and regional governments. I then transitioned into the energy sector where I specialized in environmental policy, federal and provincial climate change policies, and innovation for technology development. 

Through JMD Solutions Group, I teach, write, and edit communication materials, as well as develop e-courses covering a range of topics that include climate change, science communications, technical communications, writing skills, plain language writing, editing, blogging, and business writing and business soft skills development, all of which also include options for ESL students.
